Description

Upper Roots Forceps No. 151 – Very Fine are precision dental extraction instruments designed for the controlled removal of upper dental roots and fine root remnants. The MMI-51-151 features long, slender and very fine beaks that provide precise access to narrow root structures and support controlled engagement during extraction procedures.

The Fig. 151 pattern is specifically designed for upper roots with a very fine working end. Its narrow 2.3 mm profile allows the beaks to be positioned precisely around delicate root structures, while the fine gripping surfaces provide controlled contact during extraction.

The elongated, tapered working ends are particularly useful where precise access is required around upper root structures. The ergonomic handle provides comfortable handling and controlled manipulation, while the precision screw joint supports smooth and reliable movement of the working ends.

Manufactured from premium surgical grade stainless steel, these upper root forceps provide excellent strength, durability, corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. The high-polish finish facilitates cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable construction supports professional sterilization procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
