Description

Upper Roots Narrow Beak Forceps No. 76N are precision dental extraction instruments designed for the controlled removal of small upper roots, root fragments and remaining root structures. The MMI-51-076-07 features narrow, curved and concave beaks that allow accurate positioning around smaller root structures.

The Fig. 76N pattern is specifically designed with a reduced-width beak compared with the standard Fig. 76. This narrow configuration makes the instrument suitable for smaller-diameter upper roots and fractured root remnants where a broader forceps may provide less precise access.

The beaks feature a concave internal surface designed to provide effective contact with individual roots, including round or oval root structures. The bayonet-shaped construction offsets the working ends from the handle axis, helping the beaks align with the long axis of the tooth during extraction.

The precision box joint supports smooth opening and closing of the working ends, while the ergonomic handle provides comfortable handling and controlled manipulation. Manufactured from premium surgical grade stainless steel, these forceps provide strength, durability, corrosion resistance and reliable performance for repeated professional dental use.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
