Description

Bein Luxator Fig. 4, Straight is a precision dental instrument designed for controlled luxation of teeth and tooth roots during dental extraction procedures. The MMI-53-220-04 features a straight working end with a broad, tapered profile for accurate positioning and controlled manipulation around tooth and root structures.

The Fig. 4 configuration has a 5.0 mm working-end width, making it the broadest size in the straight Bein luxator series. KLS Martin lists the straight Bein luxator range as Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, with the Fig. 4 measuring 5.0 mm.

The straight working end facilitates direct instrument positioning, while the broad working profile provides increased contact coverage during luxation. The tapered configuration allows controlled placement around tooth and root structures according to the clinical requirements of the extraction procedure.

Manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, the instrument provides strength, durability and corrosion resistance for repeated professional use. Its polished surface supports cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable construction allows appropriate sterilization between procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
