Description

The Endodontic Spoon Excavator 32L is a precision dental hand instrument designed for controlled excavation and removal of softened dentin, carious tooth structure, temporary restorative materials, and debris during endodontic and restorative procedures. The MMI-71-134 features a double-ended configuration with long, angled shanks that provide improved access to deep cavities and the pulp chamber.

The approximately 1.5 mm spoon-shaped working ends are designed to engage and remove softened material efficiently while maintaining excellent tactile feedback. The extended shank allows the clinician to reach deeper treatment areas while maintaining controlled instrument positioning.

Manufactured from premium surgical grade stainless steel, the instrument offers excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and reliable performance during repeated professional use. The precision-formed spoon tips support controlled excavation, while the ergonomic knurled round handle provides a secure, non-slip grip and enhanced tactile sensitivity.

The 32L Endodontic Spoon Excavator is particularly useful for pulp chamber cleaning, root canal access preparation, removal of softened dentin, and excavation of debris from confined treatment areas.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
