Description

Martin Ergo Root Fragments Deep-Gripping Forceps No. 146 are precision dental extraction instruments designed for the controlled removal of deep-seated root fragments and retained root remnants. The MMI-51-146 features a long, narrow and angled working end that provides access to root fragments positioned deeper within the extraction site.

The Fig. 146 design is specifically intended for deep-gripping root fragment extraction. Its narrow working end allows the beak to reach deeper root remnants, while the shaped gripping tip supports secure engagement and controlled manipulation during extraction procedures.

The Martin Ergo handle design provides comfortable handling, balanced operation and precise operator control. The ergonomic construction supports controlled manipulation, while the screw-joint mechanism allows smooth and reliable movement of the working end.

Manufactured from premium surgical grade stainless steel, these deep-gripping root fragment forceps provide excellent strength, durability, corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. The high-polish finish facilitates cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable construction supports appropriate sterilization between professional dental procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
