Description

Martin Ergo Upper Molars Forceps No. 17 are precision dental extraction instruments designed for the controlled removal of upper molar teeth. The MMI-51-317 features anatomically contoured curved beaks with specialized gripping surfaces that provide secure engagement and stable control during extraction procedures.

The Fig. 17 design is developed to adapt closely around upper molar anatomy, allowing efficient tooth grasping and controlled application of extraction force. The serrated gripping areas help maintain a firm hold while reducing the possibility of slipping during clinical use.

The Martin Ergo handle design provides enhanced operator comfort, improved balance, and precise control throughout dental procedures. The ergonomic textured grip supports secure handling, while the smooth screw-joint mechanism ensures reliable jaw movement, consistent alignment, and long-term performance.

Manufactured from premium surgical grade stainless steel, these upper molar extraction forceps provide excellent strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and repeated-use reliability. The high-polish finish allows easy cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable construction supports proper sterilization between dental procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
