Description

Pott Root Elevator Fig. 1 is a precision dental extraction instrument designed for controlled elevation and luxation of teeth and tooth roots during dental extraction procedures. The MMI-53-567-01 features the classic Pott elevator design with a long straight shaft, angled working end and a transverse T-handle for enhanced control.

The narrow curved working tip is designed to provide precise access around tooth and root structures, allowing controlled positioning during extraction procedures. The angled blade geometry supports effective adaptation to the anatomical contours of the extraction site.

The T-shaped handle design provides a secure grip and improved rotational control compared with traditional straight-handled elevators. This configuration allows clinicians to apply controlled force while maintaining instrument stability during root elevation.

Manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, the instrument is designed for durability, corrosion resistance and repeated professional use. The high-polish finish supports efficient cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable construction allows sterilization between procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
