Description

Seldin Root Elevator Fig. 2 is a precision dental extraction instrument designed for controlled luxation, elevation and removal of tooth roots during oral surgical procedures. The MMI-53-002-00 features the classic Seldin elevator design with a straight shaft and a broad, tapered working blade for effective engagement with root structures.

The wider working end provides a stable contact surface for controlled application of force during extraction procedures. Its straight configuration allows direct positioning and accurate manipulation, making it suitable for various root elevation applications.

The ergonomic solid handle provides a secure grip and excellent control during clinical use, allowing dental professionals to perform controlled rotational and lifting movements. The Seldin Fig. 2 pattern is commonly used in dental extraction procedures where a broader working surface is beneficial.

Manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, the instrument provides excellent durability, corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. The high-polish finish supports efficient cleaning and maintenance, while the reusable design allows sterilization between procedures.

To maintain the performance, appearance, and service life of your stainless steel dental and surgical instruments, follow these care guidelines:

  • Clean instruments immediately after use to prevent blood, tissue, or debris from drying on the surface.
  • Wash using a neutral pH enzymatic detergent and a soft nylon brush. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or demineralized water to minimize mineral deposits and corrosion.
  • Dry completely before sterilization or storage, paying special attention to hinges, joints, and serrations where moisture can accumulate.
  • Lubricate hinged and moving instruments regularly with a medical-grade, steam-permeable instrument lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Sterilize using validated autoclave procedures or other approved sterilization methods according to healthcare facility protocols and the instrument’s intended use.
  • Store instruments in a clean, dry environment with tips and cutting edges protected from impact or contact with other instruments.
  • Inspect instruments before each use for wear, corrosion, misalignment, or damage. Remove any defective instrument from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Do not expose stainless steel instruments to bleach, strong acids, high-chloride solutions, or prolonged soaking, as these may cause staining, pitting, or corrosion.
  • Use each instrument only for its intended purpose to preserve precision, functionality, and patient safety.
